Good morning beautifuls!
Hope you are all having a lovely December. Today's guest blogger Myriam from Myr Meets World, has a wide array of how to dress for this time of the year. There is so many different ideas, I'm sure you'll find something you love! Thank you so much Myriam for getting involved in the 12 Days of Guest Bloggers! Rach xx ‘Tis the Season to be Fashionable
If you’re like me then right now you are probably sitting down right by a fireplace, sipping champagne, in a glamorous Diane Von Furstenberg wrap-dress, watching Elf because it’s a classic. If you’re doing all of that right now I can’t tell you how jealous I am of you. There are people that go out with friends the whole week before Christmas and do gift exchanges, but that’s not me. Blogs, retail life, and school have gotten the best of me this year. Two days before Christmas……I repeat TWO days before Christmas, and I still haven’t bought all the presents I was supposed to get my friends, yet alone wrap the presents that I already have. I just put my Christmas tree up on Sunday and that’s only because I wanted to do a mini photoshoot in front of it. You can say my life has been pretty crazy this past week or so, but luckily last night I got to enjoy some time with a couple of amazing people. Here’s my mini introduction on who I am, my name is Myriam Harvey (my instagram is @myriamharveyy) I am a fashion and lifestyle blogger form Chicago. I write for my own blog (myrmeetsworld.blogspot.com) I also write for other blogs and websites, like College Fashionista, and every now and then I get amazing opportunities to do collaborations with other amazing bloggers, like this collaboration I am doing with Rachael.
Since Christmas is two days away I figured why not write a post about what to wear, and give you some inspiration to what you can wear this holiday season. ‘Tis the season to be fashionable. Blue Christmas

1. Maybelline BB Cream
2.NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream 3. L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara 4. Maybelline Fit Me Powder 5. Coastal Scents 12 Piece Brush Set 6. Coastal Scents 120 Eyeshadow Palette Hey everyone, I'm so delighted to be a guest blogger for Rachael! Today I'm going to be showing you my top makeup gifts for Christmas to give the makeup beginner in your life! 1. Maybelline BB Cream This is by far one of my favorite BB creams to use. I think this is perfect for a beginner because it's not going to be as heavy or hard to choose a shade. You can easily pick a shade that most describes the person and the formula will work to match with their skin. That way they're getting a feel of what it's like to have a product all over their face and it's an easy way to get a smooth and flawless finish. 2. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream For someone whose not really comfortable wearing lipstick or they're just starting out, NYX's Matte Lip Creams are a perfect go to. With so many shades to pick from and experiment with, you can start by getting them soft shades such as Buenos Aires and Tokyo. This is something they can use to spice up their look without having the complications of worrying about their lipstick, while still getting a soft coverage on their lips. It's also perfect because it's not drying to the lips either. 3. L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara There are a lot of mascaras out there and it can be pretty hard to choose what mascara will do. This is my favorite drug store mascara to use. Not only does it give my lashes some length, it also gives great volume as well. I have pretty thin and curled lashes, but this mascara works great. If you're looking to splurge on the high end side, I recommend getting them It Cosmetics 5-1 mascara ($23). 4. Maybelline Fit Me Powder Depending on how comfortable your makeup lover/beginner is, you can also opt to get them a nice powder as well. I love Maybelline Fit Me Powder because it gives you a matte finish that lasts the whole day. They will also be able to use this instead of the BB cream on days that they might feel oily. There's different shades to choose from, so this is probably a gift you can give them when you take them shopping. 5. Coastal Scents 12 Piece Brush Set I think a good brush set is perfect for anyone starting out with makeup. There are different brush types for their whole face that they can use. From powder brushes, to eye shadow brushes. That way as they're starting to experiment more, they'll have the tools they need for their looks. Coastal Scents make great brushes and these are my go to brushes when I'm doing my makeup. 6. Coastal Scents 120 Eyeshadow Palette Coastal Scents definitely has a lot of great products, but one thing I love is their 120 eyeshadow palettes. They have a different variety of types including cool shades and shimmers. This specific palette I think is perfect because it gives you the best combination of cool and warm colors. There are neutrals and even some bright colors. They don't seem to have the 252 palette, but that's the one I have and I've been using it each time I do my eyeshadow. Even with the 120 palette, there are many combinations of makeup looks to experiment with and try out. It's affordable and definitely worth the money for a makeup gift. There are many things I think are perfect for a makeup beginner, but these are my must haves. The perfect combination to have a nice and neutral look. These products are drug store products too, as sometimes starting with high end products aren't that good, especially if the person doesn't feel too comfortable with their makeup. All these products are affordable and work great, and they are products that I personally use myself. If you're looking to give high end products, stores such as Sephora and Ulta have deluxe mini's that you get which are perfect stocking stuffers. What products would you recommend for a makeup beginner? Make sure to leave a comment down below! From one beauty lover to another, see you soon!
Hello beautifuls!
Hope you are having a lovely day. I know I'm never ready for Christmas until my house looks incredibly festive. After that, I become like a six year old on Christmas Eve. Today's post is a really simple, last minute Christmas DIY. Since it's a last minute DIY, I've made sure only to use items I already have at home, so you can too. What you need:
Create the circle shape of your wreath using the wire. I have chosen to use lots of different strands together, just to ensure that my wreath will retain its shape. Cut off any extra wire using the side cutter or another wire cutting implement. Twist the ends around the wire to secure in place.
Begin adding your Christmas decorations to the wreath. I'm adding some silver beads by wrapping them around the wreath, securing it in place by tucking it under other beads.
Add lots of different Christmas decorations until you are happy with your wreath. I have chosen to add one type of decoration at a time, and then fill in the spaces with other decorations. This helps to make the wreath more symmetrical.
Once you have added all of your beautiful Christmas decorations, tie a ribbon at the top so you can hang it.
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all have an incredible day and it exceeds your expectations. I hope you also spend it with people who love and care about you.
Rach xx
Hello beautifuls!
Hope you are all having an incredible day! Christmas is almost upon us. I don't know about you, but the idea of all the Christmas cooking I need to do is getting a little overwhelming. Today's guest blogger Johanna from Handmade Dreams of Mine has created a brilliant Christmas cooking post that is really quick and easy to make. Not to mention it is GLUTEN FREE You are going to love it!
Christmas time means spending time with family, sharing gifts, enjoying festive music and decorations. And then there’s the food. As a celiac, that can be quite scary. When visiting friends, you never know if there’s anything safe to eat – especially on desserts. So far, I’ve had the luck on my side, and there’s always been lots of consideration towards my special needs diet. However, I know from stories of my friends that it isn’t always so. Therefore, I dug around, and found a way for anyone of us gluten free girls and boys to enjoy Christmas treats at our friends’ houses. Just make sure they have a microwave and microwave safe mug.
This recipe was found on Babble.com (recipe here), but I added a little something to make it taste more like holidays. Gluten-free Two-Minute Mug Brownie
1/4 cup gluten-free oat flour, quinoa flour, or a gluten-free flour blend
1/4 cup packed brown sugar 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder Pinch salt 2 Tbsp canola or other mild vegetable oil 2 Tbsp milk, coffee or water Crushed candy cane for garnish Whipped cream
In a heatproof mug or ramekin, stir together the dry ingredients until no lumps remain. Stir in the oil and milk until you have a thick paste.
Microwave on high for a minute, checking it after 30 seconds (microwaves vary) — it will be done when it’s springy on top but still a bit gooey — like the very best brownie.
Add crushed candy cane and whipped cream on top if you wish. Eat warm.
To make this portable
You need to pack the dry ingredients into a little container, and if you need to, pack oil into its own tiny dish. Add water at your friend’s house, and prepare like usual. Whipped cream doesn’t travel well, but the candy cane can be packed along. This also makes a great dessert for any other time of the year, just replace the garnishes with fitting ones, like berries, fruit, any type of (preferably chocolate) candies or ice-cream.
If you are not gluten free, you can switch the flour to a regular one if you wish for yourself. If you have gluten free friends, you can surprise them with this dish and I’m sure they’ll be quite excited about it. This recipe makes a rich, chocolate flavored treat – as a brownie should be. It’s at least as good as the regular one (that’s made with wheat). The moral of the story: Despite what so many people still believe, gluten free food is fun, tasty and easy to do. It might not be the cheapest, but it can be clean when done with the right ingredients. In my blog, I love to share recipes and such for those in need of gluten free diet. So if that’s a thing for you, I would be more than happy to see you around and help you out if I can! Happy holidays! Note: I have been inspired by Tommy John to write this post. I have not been paid for this post in any form. All of these are my own ideas and opinions unless otherwise stated throughout this post.

Get ready for some festive outfit inspiration and stunning photos from London that will get you in the mood for the season. Thank you so much for being a part of the 12 Days of Guest Bloggers Sam! Rach xx Christmas GreetingsOnly 3 days to Christmas! Time sure flew by pretty quickly this year. Has it really already been a year?
It’s hustle bustle everywhere. The streets are full of shoppers and lighted with Christmas lights. Having a hot chocolate night and decorating trees, playing favorite Christmas tunes and having Christmasy movie nights. It’s the most wonderful time of the year. The atmosphere is so blissful. So the other day I planned to drive around the city to see lights and to buy some gifts. I always get confused while selecting gifts as there are so many options and every time I end up buying all of them. While strolling from one street to another I surely ended up at the right place with the perfect background and to add more pinch to the atmosphere this snow flakes gave me enough reason to smile. London is definitely not having a white Christmas this year again. However, these beautiful decorations overcomes that quite well. London shine a little bit brighter during this time of the season. I fell in love with this place all over again. That day to keep myself comfy and chic, I wore oversized sweater from Primark with my warm muffler from Tk Max. I paired this with my new high boots from Dorothy Perkins. Time to say Merry Christmas Everyone- all the way from London :* I hope you enjoy our beautiful London decorations and let me know what you love about you city the most. Have a great holidays guys x Love Sam <3 Hello beautifuls! Hope you are all having a lovely day. Christmas is the perfect time to try out different DIY's and let your creativity shine. With this DIY you can literally let it shine :P I'll be showing you how to create a gorgeous twinkling tinsel star. All you will need is a few things that you're likely to have lying around at home and re-purpose them. When choosing wire try to use wire that is pliable, but still sturdy enough to retain it's shape. Using a few pieces of wire together can help with this. If you cannot find wire like this, follow these steps and I have an extra little suggestion at the bottom to solve this. Create a star shape with your wire. This may take a few tries to get the perfect shape. Drawing a stencil on a piece of paper and shaping it to follow the stencil can also be quite helpful. When you have the shape you want, twist the ends of the star shape to hold it together. Use side cutters or another form of wire cutters to cut off any excess wire you may have. Twist your tinsel around the wire until it is completely covered. To make it easier to twist around, keep your tinsel in a ball and unroll as you go. Twist your fairly lights around the tinsel to give it a light and sparkly effect. Your sparkling Christmas star is now complete and ready to hang. You could also add some candles in the middle of the star for a table centre piece. This is great for Christmas lunch or dinner to add something extra to your table. This suggestion is perfect for those you who don't have write that is sturdy enough to retain it's shape.
Have a fabulously festive day beautifuls! Rach xx P.S. Vlogmas has now begun over on my Youtube channel. There'll be lots of adventures, Christmas ideas and general festive activities. You can watch Vlogmas 2015 here.

She is an Italian fashion blogger who creates some amazing fashion, travel and beauty posts. You are going to love how she styles this stunning dress from a day to night look. It's the perfect advice for Christmas and New Year's outfits. Rach xx Christmas Party Outfit
Christmas is coming and all it’s festivities too. I have been searching for the perfect outfit for this season for the longest time that I can use for Christmas and for New year. I wanted it to sparkle and of a particular color, red . After looking at different dresses, I found the perfect one. It wasn’t red, although it does exists, I found this exclusive iridescent green velvet dress from Motel Rocks and I fell in love immediately.
I think that this dress can fit two different styles, so I decided to do two different looks, for the day and the for the night. Day outfit I combined amphibian boots studded with some blacks socks and my favorite hat from Bershka! Night outfit Changing only the shoes and wearing a heel the dress became very elegant. This is my choice: I add my favorite boot…the over the knee :) You can find this dress in three different colors: red, black and green… Which color do you prefer? Hello beautifuls! Rach xx Hi beauties! Megan from thechroniclesofmegan.wordpress.com here and I’m bringing a little holiday cheer to My Violet Delights today. Thanks again to Rachael for letting me guest post for your 12 Days of Guest Bloggers for Christmas!
The holidays can be stressful; it always seems like there are a million things to do! Between work/school, finals, holiday shopping, cooking, cleaning, decorating— it can all get overwhelming. On top of that, the winter cold can have you feeling dehydrated or even under the weather. So, what’s a girl to do? How about “Treat Yo’ Self”?! A little pamper time is my solution to cure the holiday blues and here’s my easy steps to some festive and moisturizing relaxation: 1. Prep your face: I start with my usual makeup remover and cleanser from my everyday skincare routine to get the face ready for a mask. Then, I go in with an exfoliator to set up a great base for the mask can do the most good for the skin. I’m using Pixi Glow Tonic which is a chemical exfoliant, but use whatever works best for your skin. |
