It's that wonderful time of the year, the height of fashion season. New York started the season with lots of beautifully detailed fabrics, gorgeous silhouettes, and dreamy styles.
One of my favourite trends this season is beaded detailing. Quite a few designers also used pearled detailing, which looked absolutely stunning. It gives such a regal touch. Embroidered detailing has also continued.
Silhouettes this season have been flowy, frilled and incredibly feminine. Red's, yellows, dark green and navy fabrics have been very prominent. I have adored the embroidered sheer fabrics, particularly the dress at the top of this post by Alena Akhmadullina. Fabrics have also been a lot less tailored, along with pleat ironed pants.
Creating new shapes this season has been tie waist fabrics and wide waist height belts. I love Mara Hoffman's take on the tie waists in the photo above. The design also ties in well with the corset trend.
I am also loving the sheer and gathered sleeves. There have been quite a lot of sheer Victorian style flared sleeves. I cannot wait to wear this style with coats to add extra detail to outfits. Puffy and frilled sleeves have been creating a dreamy touch to looks throughout Fall RTW collections. Necklines have also been frilled and gathered.
Have a wonderful week everyone!
