It's finally that wonderful time of the year, December!!! Apologies for all the exclamation marks within this post. I'm just so incredibly excited about December and Christmas. Are you just as excited as I am? It's time to show off your festive spirit, in particular with some gorgeous red and snowflake nails. Here in Australia we don't get to see beautiful snowflakes at Christmas obviously. However having snowflake nails has a certain kind of charm to it.
What you'll need:
Before getting started it's always a good idea to shape your nails with a nail file, push back your cuticles, buff them and remove any residue of previous nail polish. This will help to make sure that your nails have the perfect finish. Your nails are your canvas, so make sure you're happy with them before you paint them. When you're ready to paint add a coat of red nail polish. You may need to add a couple of coats to achieve the colour you like.
Choose a nail on both hands to be your feature nail. Then add your glitter polish and some gem stones to the nails. If you don't want to have a feature nail, painting snowflakes on all of your nails is also incredibly effective. Wait for this to dry completely before adding snowflakes.
Paint some snowflakes on your nails using your tiny paint brush or toothpick. I found the simpler the snowflake the better it looks. I created my snowflakes by drawing a centre line, then drawing two branches off the centre line. Finally, I added some smaller symmetrical lines along the centre and branch lines. This does take some patience. Finish off with a couple of coats a clear or top coat nail polish to seal it.
Have a fabulously festive week beautifuls!
